EXCHANGE TRADED FUNDS (ETFs)

In the simplest term, ETFs are funds that track indexes like the S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, Barclay's Aggregate Bond Index, etc. When you buy shares of an ETF, you are buying shares of a portfolio that tracks the yield and return of the underlying index. The first ETF began trading in January1993. The S&P 500 Depository Receipt (called the SPDR or "spider" for short) was the first of its kind and is still one of the most actively-traded ETFs today. The first ETF to track a bond index became available in December 2003. This created the opportunity to begin building low-cost, well-constructed portfolios that adhere to an individual's specific investment objective.

Gregg Olson is experienced in the field of ETF portfolio management. As an ETF strategist since 2004, he is among the first to provide clients with asset allocation strategies using ETFs in all sectors of a portfolio and continues to advance and share his knowledge in this field today.
